Loving Haiti supports a variety of educational platforms in Pignon and the surrounding area.
Pastor and Madam Francois started the Phila Academie Des Petits School on their campus in 2014, in an effort to renew their existing primary school program. The Academie, highly respected and in demand, represents a commitment to bring high quality, affordable education to the community of Pignon. Now in its 11th year, the Academie consists of designated school buildings, trained teachers, professional administrators and a formal curriculum supporting pre-K through grade 10. Each year they are committed to adding another grade level through grade 13. (The Haitian education system has one grade level more than the US.) 924 kids currently attend the Academie. Loving Haiti, through monthly wages, supports teachers, administrators, teacher’s aides and other workers. We also fund the cost of tuition, books, supplies, activities, documents, uniforms and shoes for the kids from the Children’s Home.
Students from the Children’s Home who are above grade 6 attend Government, Private or NGO-contracted schools in Pignon, or receive vocational training in the larger cities of Hinche and Cap-Haitien.
Loving Haiti helps other children in the community attend school through our Pignon Community Sponsorship Program which covers tuition and other school related costs.
