Upcoming trips
Loving Haiti schedules a 7-day spring and summer trip to Pignon that is open to others interested in our work and willing to serve. Prior to travel, teams meet over a period of months to prepare for the trip, getting to know each other, discussing expectations, learning about Haiti and planning the daily itinerary.
The primary purpose of our trips is to build and strengthen relationships with the people of Haiti, particularly the children and staff who live on campus and our partners who we work with in building community! From time to time there may be work projects and programs we sponsor providing opportunities to work alongside local Haitians.

Loved connecting with the children in Pignon. If it was hanging out with the orphans in the courtyard playing card games (Kat), helping in the local clinic, or just interacting with the people around town, it was so rewarding. The time we spent meeting in advance of the trip and preparing our minds, hearts, and emotions for what we would experience was amazing. The group we traveled with were so special, and still in contact with several as it will be an experience we will share for a lifetime.

As an educator, seeing the commitment to education and the impact of the school was powerful. The greatest joy was having interaction with the kids, which will forever be in my heart!

Joining Loving Haiti was an incredible experience. We learned about how we could best engage these kiddos, and it all comes down to one common denominator--LOVE. The team was amazing in pouring out love to the kiddos, and I pray that God's love shone down as brightly on them as their love did on us. We were so blessed to be with those kids, learn their culture, their language, their form of play, and to be able to introduce them to the ocean, all while partnering with their community and pastors to create a legacy. I am so thankful to the Loving Haiti leaders for continually providing for that orphanage both their physical and spiritual needs.

Traveling with Loving Haiti was one of the most transformative experiences. I learned so much about humanity and the connection that holds us all together. In just two weeks, we built a community bond that still means the world to me and grounds me in love as I think about our world coming together.

So, while it is true that life is hard in Haiti, I also see the Kingdom of God breaking in to bring love, community, and development, which I know will bear fruit in the decades to come. I am very grateful to have had the experience of traveling to Pignon, to see this first hand. I am changed as a result of my time there.

Loving Haiti has established many relationships in Pignon over the years. They serve the orphanage, schools and provide micro loans to the community. It was a privilege for me to see firsthand the work and lives touched there. One of my primary goals for my visit was to build beds for the orphan kids as most kids were sleeping on the floor. After the beds were built it was such a joy to see these children’s faces of delight as they claimed their new sleeping arrangements. What an honor it was to provide a practical need like this and to serve alongside Loving Haiti.
