Marginalized People Groups

INVOLVE

THE MARGINALIZED

SERVE AND CARE FOR THEM

Loving Haiti currently focuses on three key areas involving the marginalized in Pignon:

The Children’s Home, operated by Pastor and Madam Francois on their campus, was built in1988. It consists of a two-story building that houses approximately 50 to 60 girls, boys and young adults from 3-20 years of age. Some of these kids are true orphans, but most are at-risk children who have a living parent or relative either too poor to care for them, or with a disability that renders it impossible for them to provide adequate care. A second home in Cap-Haitien currently houses older teens and young adults finishing secondary education, enrolled in college or in vocational training.

The Widow’s Fund, established through Loving Haiti in 2012, is used to help widows with weekly food, water, clothing, healthcare, medicine, transportation and housing needs. In 2021 we set, as one of our fundraising goals, our ability to offer a business training and ownership program for qualified widows to help them obtain financial security and independence.

The Milk & Feeding Clinic, a Haiti Home of Hope program for the severely malnourished, is financially supported by Loving Haiti.  The clinic provides formula for newborns and infants and high-calorie food supplements for mothers and young children. The clinic also dispenses over-the-counter medications, assists families with hospital expenses and provides financial assistance for school tuition.
